Is it Okay to Drink Before Noon? (Drinking with Your Morning Toast)

Some people believe that having a drink before noon indicates you have a drinking problem. This same logic asserts that after 12 o’clock, it's okay to drink all you want and it's fine, even if you drink in excess.
But the truth is that anyone who regularly drinks in excess probably has a drinking problem. So, whether it's before 9am or not, first and foremost, it's good to moderate drinking in general. Now that we got that disclaimer out of the way, let's talk more about situations where one may find themselves drinking before noon.
One may find themselves schmoozing at a buffet brunch as early as 9am. Fancy brunch events usually include Champagne or light vodka cocktails. If people have just such a drink before noon, is that a problem?
We should also consider people who work the night shift and come home in the morning after work. Their dinner is another man's breakfast. For them, getting home between 6 - 8am, is like the common person arriving home between 6 and 7pm. I think it's okay for these hard working night shift devotees to enjoy a glass of beer or wine with their morning meal, wouldn't you say?

Lastly, let it be noted that there are a completely different set of rules for people on vacation. There's nothing quite like waking up early on a fine vacation morning and getting an Irish coffee to start the day! It goes well with almost any breakfast, but we especially recommend drinking it along with some pancakes or waffles. Slipping a little shot of something into your juice can also add some character to any breakfast spread.
So, I think it's safe to conclude that it doesn't seem to be a problem to have a little “toast” with your toast. As long as you don’t get toasted!
